Dr. Denise Spirou is the founding Head of School at The Greene School in West Palm Beach, Florida, where she leads with a deep commitment to innovation, intellectual curiosity, and the holistic development of every child. Under her visionary leadership, The Greene School has become a nationally recognized model for personalized learning, academic rigor, and social-emotional growth.

With over three decades of experience in education, Dr. Spirou has served as a teacher, curriculum designer, and administrator, guiding schools toward excellence through creativity, collaboration, and research-based practice. She is known for fostering environments that inspire students to think critically, act compassionately, and approach learning with a sense of wonder and purpose.

Dr. Spirou is also the author of Confronting Today’s Issues, a thought-provoking exploration of modern challenges in education and society. In her writing, she draws from her extensive experience to address the evolving needs of students and educators in a rapidly changing world, emphasizing the importance of empathy, resilience, and curiosity as foundations for lifelong learning.

In recognition of her outstanding contributions to the field of education and her advocacy for gifted and innovative learning, Dr. Spirou was honored with Mensa’s 2017 Laura Joyner Award—a national distinction awarded to individuals who have made exceptional efforts in advancing education and supporting gifted youth.
